Anything Goes in a Bento
Though bento boxes are a Japanese staple, you’re encouraged to spread your wings and try any cuisine that inspires you in your bento box. Korean Bapsang’s list of back to school recipes would work great in our collection, and we’re excited to try the Chaana Dal with fennel and almonds from Just Bento.

And we carry two amazing Japanese cookbooks in the Poketo online shop that would go great with your new bento sets: Japanese Home Cooking by Sonoko Sakai and The Japanese Table: Small Plates For Simple Meals by Sofia Hellsten.

Now that you’re set with some resources and recipes to fill your bento box collection, don’t forget to check out the entire Takenaka x Poketo collection in our online shop including the bento boxes, matching chopsticks, and Furoshiki wrapping cloth.
