Join Kristen Gula, of Gulush Threads, as she dives into the world of modern floral embroidery! Learn the basics of hand embroidery, how to give it a modern twist, and then complete a modern floral embroidery piece - taking the designs provided or using a design of your own and applying your own creativity to make it truly unique.

The class will also cover pattern transfer, how to add details to your piece, and how you can incorporate other mediums into your embroidery (punch needle, needle felting, etc). If you decide to bring your own design/pattern, make sure to have it printed out in black and white preferably a black and white outline, so transferring the pattern is easier. No experience is necessary and anyone is invited to come and learn!

Each participant will receive:
• 5” wooden embroidery hoop
• Embroidery needle
• Embroidery snips
• Choice of embroidery thread and fabric
• Quilt and Sew Ruler
• Canvas drawstring bag

* If the workshop is sold out, make sure to subscribe in the box above and once the workshop comes back online you'll be the first to hear about it.

Kristen Gula
is a self-taught fiber artist from St. Louis, MO who took her love for hand embroidery to the next level by founding Gulush Threads in 2013. Botanicals, mostly florals, are the main focus in her work as she takes a modern twist to the age-old medium. She lives by the motto of ‘creating more with less’ by painting with thread instead of using an encyclopedia of stitches.  Although she is mostly known for her hand embroidery floral work, she has been known to dabble in needle felting and punch needle and loves incorporating all of them together! In 2016, Kristen began teaching hand embroidery to the masses and has traveled all across the US & Canada to share the art of Modern Floral Embroidery. She published her first book 200 Embroidered Flowers and launched a Youtube Channel this year!
