    The Line Hotel
3515 Wilshire Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90010

Do you want to remodel your kitchen, design a studio space or open a store, but have no idea where to begin? In this class, you’ll learn to translate your creative vision into a digital 3D model that you can see and share. Melanie Ryan and Todd Sussman of OPEN for humans—a full-service design/architecture firm in DTLA—will teach you the basic drafting skills you need to design your own spaces from top to bottom.

You’ll also get an in-depth introduction to 3D modeling software SketchUp, as well as Kubity, a form of Virtual Reality model-sharing technology. You'll even leave with your own pair of VR goggles to view the designs you create during the workshop.

In addition to new technical skills, you’ll receive a wealth of project management skills too, including: how to select the right architect or interior designer for you; how to communicate effectively with your architect and design team; and how to utilize eco-friendly, sustainable, and more economical materials to build your new space. And most importantly, you’ll learn how to create and stay within a budget.

If you’ve been dreaming of changing your space but feel daunted by the process of bringing your vision to life, this workshop will equip you with the skills, design know-how, and confidence you need to go for it.

    Please bring:
Charged-up laptop and external mouse if you use one.
Please download a free version of SketchUp on your laptop and
    Kubity on your smartphone.

Light snacks and refreshments will be served and you’ll also receive a 15% off discount at the Poketo shop in the lobby as well as all future workshops. Please read our Workshop FAQ for more info.
