Many museums designate one day out of the month to extend their hours into the night with art, drink, and DJs. But they all tend to be schmooze fests, where very few people even go into galleries. First Fridays at the Natural History Museum in L.A. is different because instead of trying to appear like you are interested in an abstract art piece, you’re face to face with million-year-old dinosaur bones and going on guided tours of prehistoric bugs! Tonight is the opening reception of First Friday–a series that will happen the first Friday of each month until June 4th.
The line up is going to be amazing:
“Meet the Silk Makers” Tour with Brent Karner, Manager of Invertebrate Living Collections
“Spider Silks: Natural Engineering Marvels” w/ Dr. Cheryl Y. Hayashi
7:00pm – 10:00pm, PARTY:
DJs: Them Jeans, DJ Spider – African Mammal Hall
Bands: tUnE-YaRdS (8:00pm) Atlas Sound (9:15pm) – N. American Mammal H.
See you there tonight!
