Explorations in textiles at De Young Museum

Suzanne Husky is inviting the public to bring down discarded clothing so that she can build a forest from those materials during her month long residency at the De Young Museum, San Francisco. I love that she is building a forest of large trees from material that would be discarded. Suzanne works with textiles and turns the real into the surreal and brings whimsy and humor into her work. If you haven’t seen her installations yet, I urge you to go down and experience her magic worlds. Below are some of my favorites from past exhibitions.

We’ve been big fans of Suzanne for years now and she was one of the first artists to do a Poketo wallet. Like most Poketo editions, they are all sold out now, but, you can see many of the designs she has done for Poketo here.

Visit De Young to find hours and dates you can visit, as well as the closing night reception on January 29th, 6pm.
