Paper Flower Making Workshop at The Line Hotel
Ji Kim of Blooms in the Air led her popular Paper Flower Making Workshop on the terrace at The Line Hotel, teaching students how to craft their own everlasting bouquets from high quality crepe paper in a myriad of bold shades.

Expert calligrapher Maybelle Imasa Stukuls led a series of workshops on the craft of calligraphy, instructing students in using a pen, nib, and ink and encouraging them to cultivate their own artistic expressions.

Social media guru Bonnie Tsang led her practical and informative Visual Social Media workshop at The Line Hotel, teaching students how to make the most of social media platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
In June, textile artist Janelle Pietrzak of the creative workshop All Roads Studio taught a workshop on loom weaving, incorporating unconventional materials such as raffia, rope, and wool. Participants went home with a custom wooden frame loom, yarn, and needle to finish their works in progress.
Crazy for Kimchi Workshop
Lydia Kim, the mother of Poketo’s co-founder, Angie, led a workshop on making three kinds of kimchi – nappa cabbage, cucumber, and radish – entirely from scratch, sans preservatives or MSG. Students got their hands dirty while gaining insight into the history of this beloved Korean side dish.
Lighting Design with Brendan Ravenhill
Lighting designer Brendan Ravenhill led his much-loved workshop at the Poketo Flagship. Participants learned the ins and outs of lighting and electricity and left with their own brass pendant lamp.
In late October, Textile designer Paige Cleveland of Rule of Three Studio taught workshoppers the art of marbling on paper. Students began by learning traditional patterns based on ancient Turkish and Japanese techniques, and once the basics had been mastered, they were invited to experiment with creating their own color palettes and unique patterns.
Cocktail Workshop with Pharmacie
Just in time for all those holiday parties, Talmadge Lowe of Pharmacie fame led a workshop on crafting the perfect cocktail. Workshop participants mixed, shook, and strained a variety of cocktail classics, plus a few modern renditions.
