The new Venice Beach Skate Park opened early this month near Windward Avenue and Ocean Front Walk. This 2.4 million dollar, 16,000 sq. ft. facility was inaugurated by the original Dogtown and Z -Boys Skate Crew themselves amongst hundreds of skateboard aficionados and locals. If you skate or know someone who does, you should definitely check this out!
The park honors the birth of progressive skateboarding in the 1970′s in the Venice and Santa Monica Beach areas. LA Times says that the arena was designed with the input of local skateboarders and professionals to be one of the most challenging skate park’s around.
