Emails (and blogs like this!) are good and all, but there’s just something so visceral about putting pen to paper. This week, we put up a great selection of stationery that will hopefully inspire your inner Shakespeare or even Sedaris.
But, before you do, listen to Lakshmi Pratury, co-host of TEDIndia 2009, who shares the story of her father and his handwritten journal of thoughts written especially for Lakshmi.
“No one writes to me anymore. Handwriting is a disappearing art,” says Lakshmi. She goes on to say, “Maybe we all need to leave our children with a value legacy and not a financial one. A value for things with a personal touch.” Agreed.
Letters, notes, doodles…I like to think that they’re all little reminders that someone, somewhere once thought of us and took the time to share it. Now excuse me while I break out my pen and paper.
