The Cipher drinking glass created by Damjan Stanković may look like just a pretty glass with an awesome mosaic design. But once a beverage is poured into the glass, the cup will know what you are drinking. (So long as the beverage fits into one of three categories: milk, orange juice, and coca cola.) As the liquid pours into the cup, the color of the beverage will “hide” its corresponding mosaic color, spelling out the word of the beverage.
I suppose if you were afraid of tasting a drink in fear of it being spiked, this would be the perfect product. But after looking at some of Stanković’s other inventions, I get the sense that he really tried to push the boundaries of design and application. Some I could see as being really practical design solutions to real life issues.
