The night was a huge success, raising $11,000 for Justin Van Hoy and his fight with cancer. This will definitely help keep him going in the face of crazy hospital bills and the plain expenses of living life.
Video of Shepard Fairey’s piece, sold for $4,000!!!
When Chris Bettig and I installed the show, we were amazed by all the work that came in the short amount of time we planned this show… two weeks to be exact and over 40 artists contributed about 100 pieces of art. Before we put up the show, we were floored, not knowing where to start… but, as it should be, one by one, art was being hung and it all came together in a really great way. This could not have been done without the generous donations from all of the artists and is testimony to the strong community in which we all belong.
Big thanks to Zach Gibson and Florencio Zavala of Studio Number One, and Matt Goldman for rocking the tunes and MC-ing the night. Zach’s master of ceremony skills brought in the big bucks. Thanks to Spitz for providing the wonderful food and Honest Tea for the beverages. Of course, thanks to everyone that came out to support!!
