David Irvin is the Founder and Creative Director of Folklor, a creative agency that specializes in creating brand stories, from online imagery down to the kitchen sink (literally) and everything in-between. David and his agency are responsible for creating the brand identities for a slew of super reputable LA businesses, including Gjelina and Tasting Kitchen in Venice Beach, as well as our beloved The Line Hotel. We chatted with David, who happens to be just as mysterious as one might expect, although one thing can be certain—he is a man of impeccable taste.
As a creative agency, what does it mean to create brand stories?
Honestly, it doesn’t mean anything until you make it into something.
What was Folklor’s first project?
What role did you play in developing The Line Hotel?
The hotel itself, the three venues including the Pot Bar, room service, and the banquets. The entire experience from picking out the silverware down to the kitchen sink. Every detail was considered.
What keeps you in LA?
The weather, the surf, and Korean food.
