Explore your inner creativity through watercolor with artist Satsuki Shibuya. Satsuki will go over basic watercolor techniques with a focus on intuition and exploration through abstract forms. Not limited to artists, this workshop is geared towards anyone seeking a new way of expressing themselves. To begin the class, Satsuki will explain abstract painting, demonstrate techniques, and allow students to familiarize themselves with the materials. The rest of the class will be spent learning different ways of approaching painting while utilizing the basic concepts of minimalism and a less-is-more mentality, with Satsuki on hand to to answer any questions and provide help. The class will wrap up with time to share favorite works with the group, as well as any experiences that were had along the way. You'll go home with a new practice for inspiring creativity and the materials that you worked with in class, plus a few works of art to add to your personal collection!
Please bring visuals that you would like to explore through painting and/or music that helps evoke something emotional or visual. All other materials will be provided.
