Get a peek behind the curtain of the fashion design world. We'll start with the building blocks of fashion design, and trend forecasting, followed by a lesson in the creative decision making process that brings a collection together - defining mood, pulling inspiration, following design direction, and editing/ merchandising as well as a demonstration on fashion illustration.
You will then design and illustrate your own outfit as part of our class' mock collection using the season's direction direction, fabrics, silhouettes, and color palate.
Come away with an illustration of your design, a packet of fashion templates, and an understanding of the complex fashion world. You'll leave with the basics of designing your own collection, resources, and an eye into LA's blossoming fashion industry.
Laptop or tablet if you want to take notes or do image research on designs while in class.
