Urth Caffe grand opening is Sunday, November 16 from noon to 7pm, the new downtown cafe…. but, they are currently open (soft opening) and have been baking from here for their other locations for the past week. We actually got a tour today!!!! That is Shalom, one of the owners! He gave us a tour of the bakery, kitchen and coffee roaster. All of their food is local, organic and made fresh daily. Coffee and tea also local with exception to some of the teas from a small farm in Japan that they personally helped harvest! Amazing.

Greg Lamarche, Maya Hayuk, Anthony Lister, and Monica Canilao …. Contain on October 23, 2008

Beginning Thursday October 16, 2008 and ending on Sunday, October 19, 2008, Anonymous Gallery had four 20ft shipping containers placed curbside near two separate major art institutions in New York City. Artists Monica Canilao, Maya Hayuk, Greg Lamarche and Anthony Lister each created and constructed installations inside the four containers. The artists created installations that explored the idea of containment, but their work ranged conceptually - discussing everything from the US political climate to sensory deprivation.

EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION
Opening October 23rd from 6 - 9pm and available to the public through November 22nd at 329 Broome Street – lower level - NYC

This Thursday, October 23rd from 6-9PM, Anonymous Gallery is proud to present a gallery exhibition featuring artists Monica Canilao, Maya Hayuk, Greg Lamarche, and Anthony Lister. The exhibition will feature collage, painting, sculpture, and installation to explore the complexity of exhibiting within a limited environment. It will serve as a tool to document the gallery’s shipping container project and support the artists’ work. The title of the exhibition: Contain, is an examination into the perspective of how public art / street art is translated indoors.
