Our friend Michella over at the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM), formerly know as NAATA, is holding a contest for their upcoming San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival. The SFIAFF is the nations largest showcase of Asian American and Asian Films for the past 26 years. Hands down, one of the best film festivals out there! They are looking for a festival blogger. You can be chosen for an all expense paid trip to SF, free passes to the festival, and stay at the Hotel Tomo. To enter, you must create a 26 second video on why you should be their festival blogger. Poketo at Heist, Miami Art Basel

heist-warehouse.png
Poketo will be available at Miami Art Basel with HEIST, a multimedia art, music, and retail space at the Miami art fair, Wed Dec 5 - Sun Dec 9 (10am-6pm). Poketo will be represented there and you can pick up some goods to take home! Sponsored in part by BlackBook and Miami’s own MAP magazine, Heist provides a free five-day multimedia experience in a combined art gallery, music venue, and retail space. Located right across from the PULSE art fair, in a stunning, decked-out Wynwood warehouse (there’s even a mini indoor pool!), this is the spot to kick back and take in art with likeminded aesthetes. Featured artists include California-based Madsteez, the iconic Bigfoot, and Motomichi Nakamura — whose video and animation has earned him multiple performances at MoMA and projects with bands like the Knife.

Mark Todd’s show at La Luz, only couple more days

mail.jpg
This show at La Luz De Jesus Gallery is great. Mark Todd has some big pieces on wood, smaller framed pieces, most are reinterpretation of comics in his very spontaneous style. Catalina Estrada also showing very beautiful, detailed work. While you’re there, get lost in all of the stuff at Wacko’s…. get lost in the toys.

Beautiful/Decay presents Vis/Ed in New York

Allow me to get some of my film nerd out of me, Beautiful/Decay Magazine is presenting a collection of experimental films at New York’s Anthology Film Archive. The above music video by Whitest Boy Alive, animated by Geoff McFetridge will be shown. It’s rad. Beautiful/Decay, Brand New School, The Happy Corp and coolhunting have carefully curated a selection of innovative new media. Wish I was there, let me know how it is.
